Project Manager

University Of Wisconsin-Platteville, Platteville, WI

The Department of Project Management Center of Excellence at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville invites applications for a Project Manager.  This position is responsible for working with various groups and offices across campus to implement projects on time, within scope, and within budget while achieving the project's stated business value.  A twelve month probationary period is required. This is a full-time, 12 -month, fully-benefited academic staff position.

Qualifications:

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's degree in project management, business, engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in project management.
  • Experience with project management methodology.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with various stakeholders across divisions and departments.
  • Ability to analyze problems, research potential solutions, evaluate alternatives, and present recommendations to project sponsors.
  • Demonstrated experience leading projects and process change.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Preferred:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience managing projects in an executive setting.

Responsibilities:

This position works under the general direction of the Manager of the Project Manager Center of Excellence. In addition, this position works closely with administration, departmental chairs/directors, other Project Management Center of Excellence staff, and project team members to discuss issues, coordinate activities, and resolve problems. This position will lead the planning and implementation of projects. The Project Manager facilitates the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables, defines project tasks, requirements, duration and risks, and prepares communication plans for change management. The Project Manager will work with both technical and non-technical team members toward achieving organizational goals.
