Role & Responsibilities

The primary responsibility for the Account Specialist is to prospect for new opportunities and turn those leads over to the Business Development Manager to work through the sales process. The Account Specialist will research accounts, identify key players and generate interest by reaching out to potential customers via the phone.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Play a fundamental role in achieving your team’s monthly sales goals
  • Source new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up, outbound cold calls and emails
  • Effectively start a discussion with the customer but more importantly get them to open up and discuss the problems they face in their company
  • Understand customer needs and requirements



  • Ability to work well within a team environment
  • Strong phone presence
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong listening skills
  • Ability to take direction from the Business Development Manager
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively
  • Eager to dial the phone and prospect


Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Inside sales experience (B2B) preferred but not required
  • Experience using LinkedIn 
  • Experience with MicroSoft Office products
