Medical Associates Clinic offers several locations from which to seek medical care, including facilities at 1500 Associates Drive, 1000 Langworthy, and 1940 Elm Street in Dubuque, Iowa; as well as facilities in Bellevue, Cascade, Dyersville, Elkader, and Monona, Iowa; Cuba City, and Platteville, Wisconsin; and Elizabeth and Galena, Illinois.
We are currently seeking a full time Registered Nurse to work as the OR Charge Nurse. Operating Room experienced required.
This leadership opportunity is for an energetic, self motivated team oriented individual with excellent communication skills who is able to relate positively with others. They will assist in developing and ensure adherence to Surgery Center policies, procedures, safety programs and monitors standards of care. This person must be able to foster a positive work environment which promotes team growth and development.
Availability and flexibility in work scheduling required.
Role and Responsibilities:
Facilitate the organization and coordination of delivery of patient care within the center. May include assisting with direct patient care.
Perform managerial responsibilities, which include but are not limited to: leading departmental meetings, daily huddles and presenting at Team meetings, contributing content and attending Patient Care Committee meetings, collecting/compiling data and preparing reports. Facilitate medical records completion and creation of medical records forms specific to their area.
Manage selection, training, development, performance evaluation, and performance issues for direct reports. Prepare schedules and assigning work to assure adequate staffing levels to deliver a high level of patient service. Manages daily operating room schedule in conjunction with the needs and availability of the physicians, anesthesia, supplies/equipment and vendor representatives.
Maintaining accurate physician preferences and annual review of orders as well as maintaining adequate levels of supplies , instruments and equipment to perform surgical procedures.
Interpret and comply with state, federal and accreditation regulations, policies and procedures, which may include but is not limited to: completing incident reports, evaluating safety and appropriateness of equipment
Accepts responsibility of being the Safety Officer and Medication RN as appointed.
Complete all other assigned projects and duties.
