Medical Associates is looking for a motivated and self-directed Medicare Sales Associates to join our growing Health Plans team. This full-time position offers a competitive salary and benefits and will require 25%-50% travel statewide.
Role: The Medicare Sales Associate is our Medicare Plan’s primary sales person. This person will lead presentations, represent our Plan, and make sales at meetings with brokers, in homes and offices, as well as group assisted living. After traveling and conducting these meetings, this person will follow up with phone outreach, mailings, and respond to online inquiries. This Sales Associate will provide excellent service to our Medicare customer population by being adaptable in their communication styles, have a tactful and friendly charisma, and be self-motivated to help others. A successful Medicare Sales Associate is goal-oriented, enjoys being self-directed and working independently, conducts themselves professionally, excels at presenting on a topic they know well, and helps educate and support others through their healthcare decisions.
Schedule: Travel required to designated cities in Iowa up to 50% of time. This candidate must be flexible with their schedule to reach their goals. A possible schedule would be three business days of travel followed by seven business days in the office. The candidate would be responsible for scheduling meetings and travel logistics.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Responsible for making regularly scheduled Medicare Information and Sales presentations, and for making the resulting sales at those meetings. Proper documentation must be provided, and regulations must be strictly followed. Responsible for attending to walk in Medicare prospects when in the office.
Secure meetings with brokers and groups in targeted geographic locations, successfully marketing, presenting, and educating potential customers. Following up through traditional and creative methods to finalize sales and provide support.
Handle service items, return phone calls, and inquiries from Medicare members.
Provide support and assistance for all Medicare projects as directed.
Complete all other assigned projects and duties.
Experience: One to three years of similar or related experience.
Other Skills: Insurance license for Iowa (the company will pay to obtain insurance licensure if not already acquired).
Education: Equivalent to a two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study or certification at a business or trade school. Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin insurance license required.
Interpersonal Skills: The ability to motivate or influence others is a material part of the job, requiring a significant level of diplomacy and trust. Obtaining cooperation (internally and/or externally) is an important part of the job. Excellent and adaptable written and verbal communication styles. Being compassionate, friendly, outgoing, and personable will help this person succeed.
