Medical Associates is hiring an LPN to join our Psychiatry and Psychology department. This fast-paced environment offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity to provide the best possible care for patients.

Position Overview:
- 80% phone triaging to include: crisis assessment, intervention, outreach and screening
- 20% hands-on nursing to include: rooming and intake questions

- located in our Professional Arts Plaza building
- work closely with our dedicated team of nurses, Psychiatrists and Psychologists
- Mental health experience is preferred but not required

Hours: 25 hours/week, the clinic is open Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.  This position would work ~3 days a week, with majority of the scheduled days being Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday or Friday-- flexibility is necessary!

Role:
Provide quality professional nursing care for psychiatry and psychology patients following licensure requirements, Clinic standards of practice and within the nursing scope of practice. Assists providers and coworkers in collecting and assessing information, giving injections, telephonic nurse support and independent assessment for mental health patients, coordinating and carrying out diverse patient care plans and services, including pharmacy refills and monitoring of narcotics.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate using team approach decision making tools and protocols to direct/perform nursing care and intervention.

Integrate the nursing process in all patient contact, care, diagnostic testing, and treatments. Collect pertinent patient health care data, review medical records and confer/collaborate with physician/providers to ensure patient needs are met.

Communicate effectively with patients, coworkers, and external customers to share the decision making process and influence the expected outcome. Promote patient wellness and provide patient education. Document care provided, including but not limited to: assessment, interventions, medication, patient education, and assist with integrity of medical record.

Demonstrate flexibility in performing other additional duties of patient care. Provide input for devising systems to improve quality and efficiency of patient care and workflow. Participate in required meetings.

Maintain an office environment that is safe, neat, organized, and supplied with necessary equipment, instruments, supplies, and educational materials. Ensure equipment is functioning safely and properly. Perform cleaning and maintenance of equipment according to guidelines.

Complete all other assigned projects and duties.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Education:  Equivalent to a two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study or certification at a business or trade school.  Must have valid LPN or RN license.

Experience:  One to three years of similar or related experience.
