POSITION PURPOSE
Responsible for strategic and operational leadership of Human Resources in the Eastern Iowa Region of MHN. Strategically aligns HR programs, services and initiatives to support the Eastern Iowa region, the market ministries and the entire health system. Participates with regional leaders, CHROs and MHN and Trinity HR leaders to develop regional strategy, workforce planning, and the necessary HR service initiatives; ensures HR programs, services and initiatives are appropriately aligned with Mercy Health Network’s objectives. Oversees operational aspects of HR service delivery in the Eastern Iowa region. Proactively works in a collaborative manner with other members of the senior leadership team, with Mercy Health Network (MHN) leadership, and with Trinity Health System Office and Shared Service Organizations to improve performance and attain strategic goals and objectives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resource Management, or related field required, Master's degree preferred. 5+ year’s human resources or related director level experience. Must possess knowledge of the healthcare environment and key issues associated with hospitals, ambulatory care and physician alignment, in addition to an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of healthcare finance and strategic financial planning. Ability to work in a complex matrix reporting environment. Excellent customer service orientation skills are necessary in order to deal effectively with various levels of Eastern Iowa region personnel, governance, physicians, patients and community groups. Strong verbal and written communication skills, in order to effectively discuss financial issues and performance and to foster culture of the Eastern Iowa region. Strong leadership/influencing skills are required with the ability to work effectively within a system and influence others and achieve results. Advanced interpersonal, management and organizational skills are necessary. A personal presence which is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals, values and guiding behaviors of MHN.
