This is a PRN position meaning work hours will be on an as needed basis. You will be covering open shifts for staff on vacation, sick or any other days that there is a need. This position will work in both Outpatient and Inpatient therapy. This does include Pediatric Outpatient coverage. You will also be part of the weekend rotation for Inpatient therapy.
The Physical Therapist screens patients to determine the need for physical therapy services. Performs physical therapy patient evaluations according to doctors' referrals and communicates any changes to physician. Designs physical therapy plans of care that integrate patient/family goals, treatment, outcomes, and doctor's care plan. Performs physical therapy intervention as requested by physician. Identifies and addresses psychosocial, cultural, ethnic and religious/spiritual needs of patient/family. Addresses patient needs for services other than physical therapy (e.g. occupational therapy). Educates others using relevant and effective teaching methods. Responsible for the direction of the PT Assistants and PT Techs/Aides according to regulatory standards.
An active, non-conditional Physical Therapist license issued by the Iowa Department of Public Health via the Iowa Bureau of Professional Licensure is required. Must have a valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance.
