ABOUT OUR HOSPITAL
UnityPoint Health Finley Hospital is a 126-bed community hospital. We employ more than 800 full-and-part-time employees. Finley Hospital is a not-for-profit, locally owned, regional healthcare facility part of the UnityPoint Health system. This position works every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am, for 72 hours per pay period. You will be required to flex to other shifts as needed. You will work 5 weekends in a row with every 6th weekend off. This position does not receive any WEP premiums.
The Emergency Department specializes in emergency medicine and operates 24 hours a day. The department sees a variety of patients from newborns to geriatrics who come by ambulance or walk in. the Emergency Department provides the initial treatment and stabilization of patients who come with a broad spectrum of illnesses and injuries, some of which can be life threatening.
The Unit Clerk is responsible for clerical duties within the Emergency Dept. That could consist of using communication devices such as telephones, pagers, and nurse calls. The Clerk orders supplies for the nurse's station, assembles trauma alert charts, updates hospital policy manuals and performs other duties as assigned.
Must possess a High School diploma/GED. Previous clerical and/or health care experience is preferred. Must be proficient with computers/technology. Excellent customer service experience is required.
