UnityPoint Health Finley Hospital is a 126-bed community hospital. We employ more than 800 full-and-part-time employees. Work hours will be days, Monday through Friday, for 80 hours per pay period. You will be required to flex to other shifts as needed.
The nursing director of the Family Birthing Suites is responsible for the oversight of the Family Birthing Suites and Suite Beginnings. The director is also responsible for the oncology services provided at The Finley Hospital. The nursing director works with other leaders to ensure the overall performance and outcomes, both financial and clinical, of the units and corresponding programs. The director ensures that the strategic plan for the unit is implemented through the daily operational plan. The director is responsible to hire and manage all nursing personnel associated with the units and programs and holds 24-hour accountability to ensure that the needs of the population served are met safely.
Must be a graduate of a recognized professional program for nursing. Must be licensed in the state of Iowa. Bachelors Degree required. Master’s Degree preferred. Two years of professional experience in obstetrical nursing preferred. Previous management experience preferred. Must be knowledgeable about obstetric and/or oncology principles and practices, including performance management and performance improvement. Knowledge of JCAHO standards is required. Oversight of a clinical area requires CPR training. Certification in a related specialty is expected within two years of accepting this position.
