- High school diploma, GED, equivalent and/or graduate of a Certified Medical Assistant program
- 1-2 years' experience in a clinical, hospital, or healthcare setting preferred
- Certification as a CMA through AAMA required within three months of hire
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or able to complete immediately after hire
- Familiarization with medical terminology
- Knowledge of basic office procedures/equipment and computer systems
We are seeking a full-time (36 hours/week) Oncology Tech/CMA to work weekdays (8:00am-5:00pm) to work in both the Infusion/Oncology Center and Family Practice Clinics.
The Oncology Tech provides clerical and patient care support services to Hospital clinical departments. The Tech resides on the Infusion Center but performs work in other patient care areas as needed based on patient activity and staffing needs in order to assure the goal of providing high quality, safe care to all SH patients. The Tech works under the direction of the Infusion Coordinator and/or Director of Clinic Nursing and Quality.
The CMA will assist with various patient duties including; assessing patient needs, answering questions, providing patient care; rooming patients, taking vitals and histories, giving injections, assisting with phone triage under the direct supervision of an RN or provider, assisting with procedures, administering medications, patient education and other duties as assigned.
