Public Health Director
Iowa County, Wisconsin has an opening for a Public Health Director. Position is responsible for the overall operation of the Iowa County Health Department and serves as the County Public Health Officer. Under the direction of the County Administrator, with policy guidance from the Board of Health, this exempt position has responsibility for a wide variety of public health service programs. Salary will be based upon candidates’ qualifications, with a current range of $38.13/hr. - $39.19/hr. A generous benefit package will be provided.
Qualifications for this position include a Bachelor’s Degree from an Accredited Nursing Program, or a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Environmental Health, or related field. Candidates need to meet requirements under Section 251.06 Wisconsin Statues for a Level II Health Department. This statue specifies “at least three years of experience in a full-time position with a public health agency, including responsibility for a communicable disease and prevention and control program.” Candidate must have three years of successful experience in a public health supervisory position with preferences given to those with a current Wisconsin license to practice as a registered professional nurse.
