The Accountant is responsible for maintaining the general ledger, miscellaneous accounts receivable billing/reconciliation, bank account reconciliations, fixed asset maintenance, journal entry preparation, and legal file maintenance. Prepares monthly financial reports. Performs other duties as assigned by the department director, which can include serving as a "back up" to other departmental personnel.
Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university required. Minimum of three years accounting experience is required; up to five years preferred. Must possess excellent organizational and communication skills. Must be capable of critical thinking and problem solving, with the ability to work independently. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrates the ability to use a PC (especially Excel and Word), operate a calculator and continuously learn new computer programs.
