The Director of Laboratory is responsible for the 24-hour operation of the Laboratory Departments in MercyOne Dubuque and Dyersville. Ensures high quality, cost effective services and efficient operation of the Laboratory through supervision of testing personnel, equipment, test menus, procedures, test result reporting, Quality Control, and Performance Improvement. Selects, develops, and maintains a team of competent staff. Holds self and team accountable for achieving the highest level of quality of care, customer service, and colleague satisfaction, and recognizes the contribution for desired results. Driven to meet and exceed customer expectations.
Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies while conducting the business of the laboratory. Organizes, directs, and supervises functions, activities, and personnel in such a way as to ensure timely, accurate reporting of laboratory test results. Organizes the laboratory in such a way to ensure quality results rapidly in a cost effective manner.
