Plans, manages, and directs Radiology services as defined by the Department’s Scope of Service Statement. Assumes responsibility for all departmental equipment, facilities, budgeting, monitoring and activity reporting. Assures the department’s services meet the needs of the medical staff. Assists in the hospital’s strategic planning and marketing process. Assures that Imaging Services are provided in a cost effective, productive manner and that all services are customer focused. Provides an environment that allows staff to maximize their talents through professional growth, involvement and empowerment. In doing so, the position maintains the department’s operating budget, develops goals and objectives and ensures that services are provided in a manner consistent with the mission and philosophy of MercyOne Medical Center.
Bachelor’s degree required in Business or Health Care related from an accredited college or university. Master’s degree in health related field or business administration preferred or additional experience in lieu of degree. Licensure or eligibility for licensure by the State of Iowa to practice as a Radiology Technologist or licensure by the AART.
Three to five years experience in Imaging Services management, preferably hospital based.
Experience with Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) or similar system preferred.
Experience with computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), GroupWise, educational software (i.e. HealthStream), Intranet.
