The primary purpose of the Central Sterilization Technician is to collect, decontaminate, inspect, process, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments. The CST will also be responsible for cleaning reusable medical devices and patient care equipment according to established standards and procedures to ensure sterile and functioning supply of materials and equipment. The CST has a strong understanding of medical terminology, infection control standards, and following policies/procedures according to American National Standard.
Customers include: co-workers, vendors, and other medical personnel.
High school education required. One year previous sterilization experience preferred. Certified Registered Central Service Technician required within 2 years of hire.
Full-time Evenings; 80hrs/pp. Every 9th weekend and rotating holidays (on-call). Primary shift is 2:00pm-10:30pm and 9:00am-5:30pm on scheduled weekend.
