Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse or Certified Medical Assistant

Position will float between all Grand River Medical Group Clinic locations 

Grand River Medical Group, a leading healthcare provider in the Dubuque and tri-state area, is currently seeking an experienced Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse or Certified Medical Assistant. This is a PRN position.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Prepare patients for Clinician office visit: greet and escort patient to exam room, obtain vitals, update medications and allergies in the electronic medical record. Explain procedures appropriate to visit.
• Assist the clinician with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments. Demonstrate ability to perform and assist with clinical procedures.
• Draw blood for laboratory specimens according to protocol as needed.
• Document accurately in all areas of the electronic medical record.
• Communicate to patient test results and return phone calls in a timely manner.
• Promote wellness by providing patient educational materials, communicating clinicians’ advice and instructions to the patient and/or family and assess the patient and/or family understanding of the instructions and information.

Education/Experience/Skills:

• Must be a graduate from an accredited Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse or Medical Assistant program.
• One year of RN, LPN or Medical Assistant experience in a clinic setting preferred.
• Must have an active license/certification to practice in the state of Iowa.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – required.
