ASSEMBLER: 

SUMMARY:

Quanex Building Products, a manufacturer of quality screen, roll formed metal components, metal embedded co-extrusions, vinyl extrusions, and fabricated assemblies servicing a variety of industries is seeking 1^st Shift Assemblers.  Job responsibilities include working from instructions to complete a variety of light assembly operations, cutting parts to length, installing components to assembly product, and packaging and labeling product.  Quanex offers a Comprehensive Benefit Package, 15 days of paid time off, 401k, Pension, Tuition reimbursement and many other benefits for its employees. 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This description represents the most significant job duties but does not exclude other work duties assigned or required but not mentioned. 

The Assembler works with fabricating, assembling and packaging screens.  No climbing is required and occasional part retrieval is required.  The employee makes minor adjustments to machines and performs simple setups requiring dimensional changes.  Quality checks are performed and production paperwork is completed. 

Work from demonstration and instruction to check material for defects, place, position, and insert parts for assembly in the prescribed order.  Read simple prints/shop orders for dimensions and part/product identification.  Operate machines and hand tools, make minor adjustments, clear jams, check work, remove empty carts, replace full carts and containers.  Must report material discrepancies; maintain clean and orderly work area. 

Use common hand tools, cleaning materials, measurement tools.
