Your Responsibilities
As a Human Resources Specialist at our Main Administrative Office in Dubuque, IA, your primary responsibilities include recruitment, retention, personnel management, HR reporting, training, and benefits. Other responsibilities of this position include:
- Assisting in the recruitment life cycle
- Posting positions internally and externally
- Actively recruiting and reaching out to potential candidates
- Screening applicants and forwarding to the appropriate supervisor
- Assisting hiring managers with the selection of qualified candidates
- Establishing recommended salary/rate offers
- Running required background checks and scheduling pre-employment screening
- Working closely with local unions and interpreting employee bargaining agreements
- Participating in internal and external committees
- Completing employment verifications
- Acting as a backup for trainings and Workers Comp
- Maintaining Human Resource Information System
- Other duties as assigned
What You Need
- AA/BA in Human Resources or Business Administration
- Computer experience, including experience working with database programs
- Valid driver’s license and insurance and the ability to travel to other sites as needed
- Strong organizational, prioritization skills, and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain the strictest confidentiality
- Able to project a friendly and professional demeanor
- Able to work well under pressure
What Makes You Stand Out
- SHRM-CP/PHR certification
- Two years of experience in human resources or recruiting
- The ability to research and analyze various different types of data or information
