About the Program
The Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) aims to provide a comprehensive range of mental health and substance-use disorder services, with an emphasis on helping vulnerable individuals. These services include:
- Crisis mental health services
- Outpatient mental health and substance-use services
- Screening, assessment, and diagnosis
- Patient-centered treatment planning
This program will benefit uninsured, underinsured, and underserved residents in Dubuque and Jackson counties, by offering multiple services in a single location and creating a more accessible and seamless environment for clients. The clinic’s goal is to remove barriers and improve access to care and reduce wait times to give our clients quicker access to services.
Your Responsibilities
The Medical Director will provide oversight and direction on activities to include medical, behavioral and pharmacy utilization management, quality management, case management, and credentialing. The Medical Director also provides input into the development of policies, programs and strategic objectives. In addition, you will:
- Review and approve psychiatric protocols for the screening, assessment, diagnosis, treatment and follow up of clients
- Act as the medical liaison with hospital(s), other physicians, clinics and agencies to insure positive relationships within the community
- Assist in the recruitment, credentialing, oversight and retention of medical practitioners
- Assist in evaluating and managing medical staff productivity
What You Need
- MD degree
- Currently licensed Psychiatrist in the State of Iowa
- Must hold current DEA certification
- Must have the theoretical knowledge and skills involved in the delivery of brain health services
- Possess the knowledge of basic concepts of public health delivery
- Personal and professional skills relating to clients and other professionals
- Ability to read and interpret data
- Eligible agency driver required
What Makes You Stand Out
- Two years’ experience in licensed staff supervision
- Moderate level of computer skills
- Previous experience with electronic medical records
