Job Overview
The Vice President of Enterprise Data and Strategic Analytics is responsible for leading areas of the credit union: Data Governance, Data Visualization, Data Architecture and Data Warehouse. These areas partner closely to form the Data Center of Excellence which delivers meaningful data to providing value and strategic decision making throughout the credit union. This role will be responsible for fostering relationships across the credit union with key leaders to bring data and analytics together to make powerful data-driven decisions to set strategic, purposeful direction that impacts our members and our organization.
Responsibilities:
- Data & Analytics Leadership:
- Assemble and lead collaborative, high-performing delivery teams.
- Set strategic objectives and define tactical projects and performance goals for responsible teams.
- Work with various stakeholders to deliver effective and impactful high business value projects.
- Provide day-to-day management of Data Governance, Data Visualization, Data Architecture and Data Warehouse areas, including operations and support functions to maintain service levels for internal clients.
- Coach and mentor employees and contribute to their individual development.
- Foster and manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers to outsource specific functionality and augment internal capabilities.
- Appropriately contribute to, leverage, and protect intellectual property.
- Play a valuable business and/or data management leadership role(s) in solution delivery, including leading the team’s delivery, identifying and responding to opportunities, addressing operational issues, and actively managing internal client relationships and expectations.
- Effectively manage the coordination and collaboration of the data committee structure to ensure all key stakeholders are represented.

- Utilize data to enhance the member experience strategy and engagement.
- Excellent communication skills, specifically the ability to distill complex technical solutions to a business-friendly story that resonates with leaders across many functional areas.
- Continuously learn about financial services, credit union, and data analytics business and technology trends, and effectively communicate/share information with colleagues.
- Build, cultivate, and curate intellectual property that contributes to innovation and delivery performance.

- Aware and prepared to engage partner relationships pertaining to compliance, regulatory and legal requirements of the credit union.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of three years of recent, progressive experience in leadership roles.
- Experience leading multiple areas of Analytical solution areas (e.g. Business Intelligence, Business Analytics, Data Engineering, Product Management, Data Science, etc.)
- Progressive experience and demonstrable expertise in enterprise-class data analytics solutions and services.
- A strong understanding of market-leading data analytic technology platforms, roles, and trends.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience writing data analytics advisory deliverables, and executive-level presentations.
- Recent work references related to industry and data analytics expertise, and people and program/project leadership experience.
- Completion of a B.S./B.A. degree or equivalent, MBA or M.S. in a business analytics or quantitative field preferred.
- Business or technical qualifications in one or more of the following areas are a plus:
- Delivery of data analytics solutions on major cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS, or other leading platform and service providers.
- Delivery of data analytics solutions on Microsoft platforms such as Dynamics, SQLServer, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, Power BI, and ML Studio.
- Other market-leading, enterprise-class data analytics platforms, tools and services.
- Application of innovative data analytic technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, R, and other open source and proprietary data analytics platforms and tools.
- Core industry business systems (e.g., core, deposit, lending, and other financial services systems) and transformation programs with a focus on related changes in data analytics architecture, engineering, and business capabilities.
- Agile project delivery methodology.
