This position is eligible for a partial telework schedule arrangement at the present time.  This position is eligible for a compressed work week or flex schedule arrangement. These arrangements may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change.

 

This position may be located in Dubuque, IA., or Moline, IL., or Des Moines, IA., per the hiring manager's discretion. This may be dependent on the successful candidate's background, experience, and proficiency.

 

 

Your Responsibilities

 

As a Staff Systems Engineer, Displays, for John Deere Construction & Forestry located in Dubuque, IA, or Moline, IL., or Des Moines, IA,  you will….

 

  • Lead and own the experience on an advanced display platform and define the future by identifying and prioritizing the new software capabilities that need to be delivered to the market, by when, from short term to long term. 
  • Create functional requirements based on stakeholder and customer needs.
  • Lead cross-functional project team(s) to accomplish successful delivery of display software solutions and support successful vehicle integration.  
  • Champion issue resolution for the programs in which you are responsible

What Skills You Need

 

  • Significant experience working with display software on off highway equipment 
  • Consistent demonstrated experience coordinating and aligning organizations to a common goal 
  • Experience with analyzing, translating, and defining requirements for software and electronic hardware-based technology solutions
  • Technical experience relating to design/diagnostics/troubleshooting of Electrical and Software subsystems or precision technology 
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and align among multiple stakeholder groups 

 

 

What Makes You Stand Out

 

  • Experience with Systems Engineering principles and requirements creation 
  • Development experience with C/C++, Qt, and/or Linux 
  • Experience with technology solutions utilized in the construction industry, such as grade control and GNSS, telematics, etc.
  • Product test and analysis experience focused on software 
  • Experience with CAN systems
  • Advanced degree in engineering discipline 

 

 

Education

 

 

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

 

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or related degree or equivalent related work experience

The John Deere Dubuque Works is one of the key facilities in Deere & Company's Construction and Forestry (C&F) Division. The Dubuque Works manufactures backhoe loaders, crawler dozers, and skid steer loaders for the construction industry and knuckleboom loaders and tracked feller bunchers for the forestry industry.  The Dubuque Works also serves as the Center of Excellence for the C&F Division in the areas of Product Engineering, Product Verification and Validation, Supply Management, and Product Support which includes the Dealer Technical Assistance Center.  From a manufacturing perspective, the core competencies of the factory include plate and sheet cutting, machining, welding, paint, and assembly.
