Description
Opening on June 1, 1985, Dubuque Greyhound Park became the nation’s first non-profit greyhound track. The facility is owned by the City of Dubuque and is operated under the guidance of the Dubuque Racing Association, a volunteer board comprised of 21 directors. Profits from the racetrack and casino go to the city and local charitable organizations, and the Gaming taxes provide revenue for the city, county and state.
In May of 2005, Dubuque Greyhound Park & Casino opened a newly expanded casino with 1,000 slot machines in denominations from pennies to twenty-five dollars. The casino was 29,600 square feet and was decorated in a Prairie Style theme.
Tables Games were introduced to Dubuque Greyhound Park & Casino in April of 2006. Our state-of-the-art casino now featured 16 table games including: blackjack, craps, roulette, and Ultimate Texas Hold 'Em, video poker and video keno. LIVE poker, including Texas Hold 'Em and other specialty games, is available in our newly constructed, state-of-the-art Poker Parlor.
In February 2009, renovations took place and a new name was revealed, “Mystique”. Mystique’s expanded casino contains at any given time between 960 to 1,000 slot machines and 22 table games, along with Pari-mutuel racing and simulcast wagering. The new casino is 39,400 square feet of gaming floor (19,700 in the upper casino and 19,700 in the lower casino) with a French theme. The facility opened a new restaurant (Champagne), a buffet restaurant (Bon Appétit), a concessions area and a 4,100 square foot event center for entertainment (Cabaret).
Mystique Casino employs approximately 400 employees year round. During our live racing season that number increases to approximately 509. We offer a wide variety of jobs that include Food & Beverage, Casino, Customer Service, Security, Maintenance, Administration along with our seasonal racing positions.
