Psychology Faculty

Clarke University, Dubuque, IA

At Clarke University, everything we do is focused on making an impact on students so they can positively impact the world. For students, it means a place where more than facts are studied – it means new ways of thinking are explored. For faculty and staff, it means more than just coming to work every day – it means truly collaborating across the university to put student success first. It also means living and working in a thriving city named one of the “most livable” small cities in the country and one of “Best Green Places” in the country.

The Department of Health, Wellness, and Behavioral Sciences invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in the Psychology Program. This position will hold the rank of assistant professor and begin August of 2018. The successful candidate will teach courses that meet major and University requirements, such as Adult Development, Research Methods, Sensation and Perception, Emotion and Motivation, and Cognitive Psychology. Based on the candidate’s area of expertise, a range of other psychology courses (including those with a clinical/counseling emphasis) may also be available. Although Clarke University heavily prioritizes teaching in the liberal arts tradition, evidence of professional activity, and service – including advising – are expected.

Qualifications

A Ph.D. is preferred. Individuals who are A.B.D. will also be considered. Technology and multimedia aptitudes will be important. The successful candidate will more than likely teach a range of traditional lecture courses and courses utilizing a hybrid or online format to nontraditional students.

To apply, please upload the following documents online at http://clarke.applicantpool.com:  letter of interest, curriculum vitae, statement of teaching philosophy, unofficial transcripts, and three recent letters of recommendation. Although optional candidates may include students’ evaluations for no more than the last three semesters of teaching.  Confidential letters of recommendation may be sent to HRletters@clarke.edu. Review of applications will commence immediately, and preference given to completed applications submitted prior to October 6th, 2017.
