Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa in Galena, Ill., the Midwest's premier Golf Resort, currently has a full-time opening for an HVAC-RTechnician in our Maintenance Department. This position is responsible for the overall operation and condition of the Inn, rental properties, support buildings, and all the associated equipment and systems used by associates and guests of the Resort. The preferred candidate fabricates, installs, repairs, and maintains heating, ventilation and air conditioning/refrigeration systems in the buildings in compliance with facility standards, local, state and national codes and regulations to protect the asset, guests and employees, to ensure optimum operations, minimize expenses, and maximize guest satisfaction. Must have basic electrical, carpentry, painting and plumbing skills, with an emphasis on preventative maintenance.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
HVAC Technician Certificate from college, technical school or accredited facility, and two years of HVAC and refrigeration training and/or experience, or combination of both.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Certificates or equivalent in electrical, heating/air conditioning, HVAC-R, carpentry, plumbing, refrigerant recovery/handling preferred. C.F.C. Certificate preferred. Valid driver’s license
Duties include: Plans new or modified HVACs to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring and meet local buildings codes.Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles HVAC ductwork. Splices wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads, twisting or soldering wires together, and applying tape or terminal caps in order to repair HVAC and refrigeration equipment. Connects HVAC wiring to household power supply. Installs control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and thermostats in HVAC and refrigeration equipment. Inspects, trouble shoots, and maintains HVAC and refrigeration equipment. Performs any routine maintenance to the facilities refrigeration equipment. Repairs or replaces any faulty, hazardous, or broken HVAC and refrigeration equipment. Assists on projects such as HVAC and refrigeration equipment. Performs maintenance of boilers, pumps, refrigeration, mechanical and electrical equipment as well any and all items requiring repair through a scheduled maintenance program. Performs routine scheduled maintenance tasks such as inspections, rental home inspections, preventative maintenance work orders, repairs to doors, windows, floor coverings, wall coverings, ceilings, furnishings, furniture, home appliances, industrial equipment and general building systems. The HVAC-R Technician accurately maintains daily maintenance logs and reports and accepts directions, processes and follows through on tasks with little guidance. Strong interpersonal skills and a team player attitude is a major plus! Candidates must have a valid driver's license and be at least 18 years of age. Candidates must be flexible enough to work a variety of shifts as needed, including weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the department.
