Medical Associates Clinic offers several locations from which to seek medical care, including facilities at 1500 Associates Drive, 1000 Langworthy, and 1940 Elm Street in Dubuque, Iowa; as well as facilities in Bellevue, Cascade, Dyersville, Elkader, and Monona, Iowa; Cuba City, and Platteville, Wisconsin; and Elizabeth and Galena, Illinois.
This is a part-time position working as a telephone rep in the Patient Services Department (24-hour help nurse) every third weekend from 8:00pm to 8:00am and some weeknight shifts from 12:00am to 8:00am. Schedule flexibility is required. This position is eligible for dental insurance, vacation pay, sick pay, retirement benefits and shift differential.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Provide and assist with a variety of clerical duties including but not limited to phone triage, Medicare Durable Medical Equipment (DME) reviews, obtaining and sending clinical information, and maintaining schedules for patients, departments, physicians and members of the Clinic and Health Plan.
Perform clerical tasks within the Patient Services department to support Medical Associates Health Plan and Clinic staff. These may include but are not limited to answering, directing and triaging telephone calls, sending and receiving clinical information to/from providers and completing requested tasks, determining medical necessity for DME supplies requested for patients based on Medicare guidelines, and maintaining physician call schedules.
Contact providers/office staff as necessary to complete requested tasks including but not limited to: paging, hospital and outside provider consults, physician access requests, and need for additional documentation for DME requests.
Participate in the training of new staff. Maintain and up-to-date orientation manual as appropriate.
Assist in creating policies and procedures to ensure effectiveness and efficiency in the department.
