Data Manager, Client Transition

This position is responsible for leading the data components of the new business on-boarding process for new non-qualified deferred compensation, defined contribution and defined benefit retirement plans.  Data is the foundation of retirement plan administration and the Data Manager creates and implements data strategies that assist in creating long-term client success. In addition to new business client transitions, the Data Manager plays an integral role with existing clients during merger & acquisition activity, plan reviews, and the implementation of new product and service offerings.  This role serves as the point person/project manager for internal resources as well as clients and intermediaries as it relates to data.


Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Project manager for standard to mid-level complexity data implementation activities
  • Front line contact for all data related items for the client, prior record-keeper and payroll vendors
  • Strategize with internal and external parties on all data related items ensuring successful plan administration
  • Ensures data required to deliver elected services is confirmed with the client and tested successfully
  • Independently represents Client Transition in prospective client visits, on-site implementation meetings, and existing client meetings clearly articulating our data story and technical capabilities
  • Leverage internal resources to implement data strategies
  • Assigns tasks to project team members
  • Identify and implement process/procedure improvements
  • 5+ years of Retirement/Financial Services Industry experience required.  (Experience with Non-Qualified plan administration/transition experience preferred.)
  • College degree preferred
  • Strong communication skills and ability to foster relationships with internal and external partners
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a project teams, providing guidance and leadership to help achieve team goals
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Ability to prioritize and work under tight deadline
  • Works well independently and in team setting
  • Able to develop a cohesive set of solutions in complex, high volume, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong leadership skills with demonstrated abilities in motivating others, building positive team climates, fostering change, and negotiating internal/external conflict
  • Ability to create strategies that result in optimal outcomes
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Shows initiative and is results oriented
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Some travel is required
