Assistant Professor - Health & Human Performance

The University of Wisconsin-Platteville invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Health and Human Performance for the Teacher Education emphasis. The anticipated start date for this position is August 2018.

Qualifications:

The position requires the completion of or demonstrated progress toward a Ph. D., or Ed. D., in Teacher Education or related field. The terminal degree must be completed prior to consideration for tenure. Expertise working with students with disabilities and three years or more of experience in elementary, middle and/or secondary schools teaching adapted physical education, health or physical education is required.  Experience teaching at the university level is preferred. The candidate should demonstrate strong verbal, written, and pedagogical skills.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include teaching Adapted Physical Education, Health Education and Physical Education major courses and may include some of the following specific courses/activities: Perceptual Motor Learning and Motor Development, Methods in Teaching Health and Physical Education, Adapted Aquatics, Teaching the Exceptional Child HPE Club Advisor, Academic Advising, and involvement in the University community.  Duties may also include teaching some activity courses to general education students.
