The Health Department is charged with implementing the four health protection programs that are required for certification by the Illinois Department of Public Health.
Those programs are water quality, food sanitation, private sewage disposal, and communicable disease. In addition, the agency administers the Woman, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program, Family Case Management, Family Planning, Immunization, Cardiovascular Screenings, Dental Health Promotion, Kid Care, Chronic Health, Infant Car Seat Program, and other family health related programs.
The agency is also licensed as a Home Health Care Agency that provides intermittent skilled nursing, speech therapy, physical therapy, social worker, and health aide care.
The Health Department is responsible for community-wide health assessment and planning. It is governed by the Board of Health, which assures that the Health concerns of the County are being addressed.
Accreditation & Quality Assurance Coordinator
The Jo Daviess County Health Department is currently seeking a Full Time Accreditation & Quality Assurance Coordinator. This is a new position and will work under the direction of the Public Health Administrator. The Accreditation & Quality Assurance Coordinator will lead the Health Department's accreditation processes toward continuous quality and performance improvement of Health Department services. Qualified applicants must hold a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree with at least 2 consecutive years of work experience in a management role. Previous Quality Assurance experience and or experience working in public health is preferred but not required.
This position has a starting hourly wage of $18.79, plus an excellent County benefit package.
