Personal Assistants are responsible for helping to build meaningful lives for the children and adults Hills & Dales serves and for enhancing the quality of their lives. Personal Assistants assist individuals with disabilities in their day-to-day living activities, providing direct support. No experience is needed and on-the-job training is provided!
Second Shift: Hours vary between 1:00pm/1:30pm, 2:00pm/2:30pm to 9:00pm/9:30pm, 10:00pm/10:30pm
*Every 3rd weekend rotation*
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Provides personal supports and active treatment to maintain a therapeutic, growth producing relationship.
Implement individual program plans are written.
Maintains and utilizes knowledge of resident strengths, needs, and individual reinforcements.
Must be able to rotate attention to each individual and verbally and physically engages them in a regular and consistent manner.
Provides reinforcement and/or prompting to individuals for appropriate behavior and program skills on a regular and consistent basis.
Encourages resident participation in all activities.
Completes service documentation.
Provides physical supports for residents, which includes; assisting with personal hygiene and care, assists in daily clothing selection and dressing, provides approved positioning and repositioning techniques.
Promotes dignity and respect of children and adults we support.
Escorts, assists, and supports individuals going out for activities and events.
High school diploma or equivalent, preferred, must have the ability to lift 35 pounds. Valid driver's license preferred.
