Project Manager-Construction

The purpose of this position is to provide support to current Project Managers, customer initiatives, escalated service calls, ongoing customer management, and manage lower-volume customers. This position allows the Project Managers to be more proactive and build and sustain their customer relationships, and handle larger pieces of business. This position works closely with Project Managers and Operations to facilitate work flow, and assists with execution of projects and new customer programs to ensure successful and timely implementation. Position involves direct customer relationship support of other’s customers, and direct customer management of assigned customers at job sites and in an office setting.


Act as first level escalation for the customer service team on unresolved customer issues, by communicating with customer contact, vendor liaison, and/or market manager

Manage, communicate and resolve issues such as installation delays, service problems, pricing or rate issues, etc., that may occur

Resolve disputes between customer locations and vendors by working with internal team members

Manage projects such as construction sites, in house projects - program changes to ensure deadlines are met

Evaluate project deliverables to ensure acceptance

Identify and communicate as necessary issues such as project delays, installation delays, service problems, pricing or rate issues, and other problems that customers need awareness of

Discuss project status, completion, success metrics, issues, customer and team satisfaction during internal meetings (scheduled and ad hoc)

Communicate the customer’s expectations to operations and customer service

Determine internal resource requirements of projects based upon project needs


Excellent interpersonal communications skills required with proven ability to develop and maintain positive internal and external work relationships.

Strong customer service orientation

Strong problem solving skills

Timeliness and accuracy coupled with the demonstrated ability to prioritize and organize business requirements and workload

Proficient with Microsoft Word and Outlook

Intermediate Microsoft Excel experience required – not just data entry – calculations

Ability to multi-task and take direction from others

Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Demonstrated conflict resolution skills

Manage project timelines

Customer(s) satisfied with level of service and communication provided: Timely and thorough communication and response to customer issues

Expected to have basic knowledge of construction and maritime industries and trends

Expected to provide information to customers according to agreed upon timelines

Escalate concerns to customers and appropriate leads

Support customer service and operations teams with escalated issues (unresolved issues)

Tracking mechanisms are thorough and continuously updated: All tracking documents and other tools utilized are updated so information can be quickly and accurately rolled up to provide updates for management


High school diploma required; post secondary education is strongly preferred, and a Bachelors’ degree preferred.
