Associate Institutional Planner

The University of Wisconsin-Platteville, Office of Institutional Research is seeking candidates for the position of Associate Institutional Planner.  This position reports to the Director of the Office of Institutional Research. The Associate Institutional Planner works in a dynamic, collaborative environment. This position is responsible for a wide range of activities involving data analysis, reporting. This includes internal requests for information to support administrative and academic decision-making, grant applications, and assessment and completing external surveys.

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business analytics, or related field.
  • Experience with Business Intelligence, Microsoft Office, and SQL
  • Working knowledge of research methods and techniques used in collecting, compiling, and organizing data and information
  • Working knowledge of analytical and statistical principles and techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty and staff
  • Ability to handle sensitive materials with discretion and tact
  • Demonstrated ability to present ideas and information clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Familiarity with content management systems
  • Creativity in designing data and analysis deliverables.
  • Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

 Responsibilities:

  • Collects, analyzes and reports institutional data
  • Completes external ad-hoc reports
  • Works closely with Information Technology and functional areas to ensure accuracy and integrity of data
  • Responds to internal requests for institutional information to support administrative decision-making, grant-writing efforts, and assessment.
  • Maintains and updates regular reports such as common data set
  • Assists in completing external surveys such as Princeton Review, US News, etc.
  • Supports campus initiatives to improve retention and graduation rates
  • Provides backup for UW-System reporting process
  • Maintains content of OIR website
  • Other duties as assigned
