Mercy Medical Center is a not for profit Catholic hospital serving the tri-state area of Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin since 1879. Mercy – Dubuque has 263 beds while Mercy – Dyersville is a critical access hospital with 25 beds and a 40-bed nursing home.
Mercy offers a full range of acute care services, including invasive cardiology and open-heart surgery, Level II trauma center, Level II regional neonatal intensive care unit, general and orthopaedic surgery, psychiatric services and inpatient physical rehabilitation. This is a core leadership position within the Patient Care Services Division, with responsibility for clinical and professional development both within PCS and across the organization. Oversees staff development initiatives including orientation, RN Residency Program, preceptor program, and BSN/Certification assistance programs; provides administrative support for the Shared Governance Education Team and assists them in their efforts to advance patient and staff education; provides leadership of the Nursing Research Committee and administrative support for the Instiutitional Review Board; and coordinates the Magnet Program at Mercy. This dynamic leader provides support for evidence-based practice improvement and innovation through the Courage in Innovation initiative and is the manager liaison for the RN Professional Achievement Team. He/she provides direct supervision of the clinical nurse /education specialists for several service areas. Requires Master's degree in Nursing (MSN); PhD in Nursing or DNP strongly preferred.
