Career & Professional Development Specialist

University Of Wisconsin-Platteville, Platteville, WI

The Career and Professional Development Office at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville invites applications for a Career and Professional Development Specialist. This is a permanent, full-time, 12-month basis position, with a starting base salary of $42,167, plus excellent fringe benefits.

 

Qualification:  

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Strong history of customer service, sales, external relations, and/or student/parent relations
  • Experience with event planning/coordination
  • Demonstrated ability to complete tasks and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple responsibilities and work effectively with students, employers, faculty and staff.
  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • Ability to work individually, as well as in team settings
  • Strong organizational skills with the
  • Demonstrated outstanding verbal and written communication

 

 Preferred

  • Experience working in higher education setting
  • Experience working with job seeker

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist students and alumni with career counseling and graduate/professional school assistance
  • Job search advising, including resume and cover letter review, mock interviews and search techniques
  • Responsible for classroom presentations and outreach activities, including maintenance of social media content and office publications
  • Assist employers with job postings and coordination of information sessions and interview spaces
  • Work with the Career & Professional Development team to coordinate career fairs, including registration, development of advertisement and event publications, and general operations
