Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machining/Apprenticeship Lab Supervisor

Must possess an AAS degree in Machining Technology, and/or at least 3 years (6,000 hours) of recent and relevant work experience as a CNC programmer/machinist. Qualified candidates will have experience with manual and CNC machining equipment. Setup, operation and programming skills are a must. Experience in automated manufacturing, tool & die, and mold making are a huge plus.

Duties and Responsibilities

Evaluate and report student performance and progress in all lab work in accordance with NICC policies and procedures. Must possess the skills to analyze and determine students’ program training needs. Must possess the mentoring skills to help students from all various CNC programs gain the competencies required to successfully complete designated program.

1. Possess a comprehensive knowledge in CNC machining centers, CNC lathe, programming, operation, and maintenance.

3. Meet all initial credential requirements and maintain credentialing in compliance with NICC Quality Faculty Plan.
4. Represent the college in a professional, positive manner with prospective, former and current students, staff, faculty, administrators, and community contacts.
5. Possess the ability to demonstrate respect for and sensitivity to a diverse student population.
6. Possess ability to develop, organize, and present various curriculum concepts to wide diversity of students.
7. Establish and maintain positive personal/professional working relationships with students, colleagues, staff, administrators, and all community contacts.
8. Possess ability to communicate orally and in writing.
9. Possess ability to work with personalities of diverse backgrounds in the classroom and in work groups with colleagues.
10. Keep attendance records on all students to comply with federal financial aid guidelines.
11. Keep CNC program chair informed of all changes/needs of equipment and supplies
12. Conduct/Chair technical program advisory committee meetings, one per term (i.e. Fall/Spring) consistent with applicable policy.
13. As an NICC employee, support the college mission and maintain conduct in a positive/professional manner which comports with NICC policies and procedures.
14. Perform other lab-related duties as assigned by supervisor.
15. Understand the difference between credit, apprenticeships, and certificate programming.
16. Able to use the NICC email system.
17. Able to use and promote the lab tracking system, TutorTrac or current program in place, to gain appropriate data.
