Clarke University in Dubuque, Iowa, invites application for an Assistant or Associate Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities beginning August 2018. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses, which may include private voice lessons, choral conducting, music education methods and general education courses in music relevant to department need and the candidate’s strengths. Duties include conducting both mixed and women’s choruses and may include a strings ensemble and/or accompanist duties, if appropriate background exists.
A doctorate in choral conducting, choral literature or choral methods is preferred, ABD considered. Preference for candidates with demonstrated potential for national/international performance, and record of successful teaching and/or commitment to the liberal arts tradition in a small collegiate setting. Candidates with prior collegiate teaching and choral conducting experience are preferred.
