Job Details:

The Department of Administration at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville invites applications for a Vice Chancellor of Strategy and Planning.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required, Graduate or professional degree strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years business, legal and/or administrative experience
  • Understanding of legal, compliance, human resource principles and standards.
  • Operational management in large and complex organizations
  • Ability to implement organizational change

Responsibilities:

The Vice Chancellor of Strategy & Planning reports directly to the Chancellor and works collaboratively with the Senior Team providing leadership, planning and policy review and development involving the University of Wisconsin Platteville (UWP). This role enables the Chancellor to work most effectively with internal and external stakeholders and fulfill commitments to the University, functioning as a representative of the Chancellor. This is a strategic and facilitative role, often working in tandem or on behalf of the Chancellor on priorities and projects, which are critical to the University's missions and success. The incumbent uses independent judgement and analytical skills to follow through on issues on behalf of the Chancellor.

This position provides Executive coordination and support to both the Chancellor and the broader membership of the Chancellor’s Leadership Team. Works closely with the Chancellors Leadership Team and Chancellor's Office staff as well as leadership of UWP, to set major priorities, coordinate communications strategies, develop policies, and monitor progress on major projects. Lead a team that supports development, implementation and monitoring of the strategic plan and related initiatives.  This position will triage legal, risk and crisis management issues.  Human Resources will report to this position.
