Dubuque County is seeking two part-time permanent Environmental Service Workers to work various hours and days at Sunnycrest Manor. Starting wage will be $9.89 per hour for 1st shift and $10.39 per hour for 2nd shift. Hours to work will be 6 am - 2:30 pm, 5 am - 1:30 pm or 8:30 am - 5 pm. Deadline to apply is 02/22/18 at 3 p.m.
General Definition of Work:
Performs responsible unskilled housekeeping and light manual work in the care and cleaning of patient rooms, halls, work areas, office and other facilities; performs related work as required. Work is performed under the regular supervision of the Director of Environmental Services.
Cleans, mops and sanitizes resident rooms, toilets and baths; Removes trash from resident rooms; Cleans windows, windowsills, blinds, walls and furniture; Cleans/repairs window treatments including cubicle curtains, draperies, blinds, shades, etc.; Performs special cleaning of rooms, disinfects walls, floors and furnishings; Cleans nursing stations, halls, lobbies, treatment rooms, recreation areas, lounges, dining areas, etc.; Stocks cleaning cart; Empties and cleans waste and trash containers; Performs and monitors quality assurance standards and protocols; Performs related tasks as required;
Follows prescribed protocols for maintaining privacy and confidentiality of protected health information in accordance with HIPAA standards and County Policies. No access to protected health information. Follows prescribed protocols for safety and infection control. Acts as Mandatory Reporter as defined in the Code of Iowa. Supports and participates in facility Home and Heart Program which recognizes individuality and honors resident choices.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
General knowledge of building cleaning practices, supplies and equipment; general knowledge of occupational hazards and safe working practices; ability to use cleaning supplies and equipment economically and efficiently; ability to understand oral and written directions; ability to meet the public effectively; ability to get along with others; ability to read and write.
Special Qualifications, Education, and Experience:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and some building cleaning experience.
Ability to bend, stoop, squat, lift, walk steps with reasonable accommodation; ability to use the facility business system and machines including computer system, paging system, telephone system, fax machine, copy machine, adding machine, etc.
