The City of Dubuque has operated under the Council/Manager form of government since 1920. Under this form, legislative responsibility rests with the City Council and administration authority is given to a professional City Manager.
The City Council is responsible for setting overall policies and goals for the City and is comprised of the Mayor and six members who are selected in a non-partisan election for four year terms. The Mayor is the chief elected official and formal representative of the City. Assistant Golf Professional
The City of Dubuque invites applications for the position of Assistant Golf Course Professional. This is a limited term position with a duration of eight to nine months. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the PGA Professional in all aspects of the golf and clubhouse operation including concessions, inventory control, club repair, organizing golf leagues, outings, tournament, and junior golf, player development, merchandising, golf instruction and golf course management of play. The successful candidate will possess some related experience in a public or private golf course; PGA Apprentice, PGM Student or desire to pursue PGA Membership; a high school diploma or its equivalent, supplemented by coursework from an accredited college or university in community recreation, park and recreation administration, or business administration or related field; or completion of a certifiable golf curriculum; or an equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the essential knowledge, skills and abilities. The successful candidate will also possess a demonstrated ability to follow a management philosophy that is input oriented and values equity, problem solving and the development of partnerships and a desire to be part of an organization that values service, people, integrity, responsibility, innovation and teamwork. The City offers an hourly salary range of $14.18 to $18.52, health insurance and pension benefits.
