The University of Wisconsin-Platteville is currently recruiting for an Academic Department Associate for the School of Education and the Education Office of Special Programs. The minimum starting pay rate for this position is $15.42 per hour, plus excellent fringe benefits. A six-month probationary period is required. The normal working hours for this position are 7:45am to 4:15pm, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Previous office management experience
  • Proficiency in software programs, including Word and Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Attention to detail

Preferred:

  • Two-year associate's degree or two years of college
  • Experience with job searches
  • Experience with budget software (e.g. WISDM)
  • Experience with databases and reporting (e.g. PASS, Business Intelligence)

Responsibilities:

Provide professional confidential administrative assistance to the Director, graduate coordinators, faculty, staff and students within the School of Education and the Education Office of Special Programs.  Specific responsibilities include course scheduling, faculty evaluation process, developing contracts and payments for faculty and instructors, administering job searches, attending meetings and providing the agendas and minutes, supporting the graduate programs, and many other duties as needed. Additional responsibilities will include specific projects and fulfilling information requests.
