Essential Job Functions

  • Excellent communication skills, including a strong command of the English language and the ability to clearly articulate program details, resolve customer, pharmacy and provider concerns over the telephone and in writing.
  • Escalate client-related issues to the appropriate staff member
  • Communicate with appropriate MedOne colleague(s) to resolve member issues, claims payment issues, prior authorization items and daily operations
  • Assist with running standard and non-standard client reports as directed
  • Demonstrate strong organizational, excellent verbal and written communication skills with emphasis on attention to detail
  • Practical application of pharmacy benefit management, including pharmaceutical drugs and drug therapies
  • Work well in a team environment
  • Portray the company in a positive image
  • Required to abide by all rules, regulations and policies of the employer 

Work Hours

  • Full- time position, 32 - 40 hours per week on average, Hours may be variable include weekdays, weekends, nights and on-call 

Required Experience & Skills

  • Minimum of a two-year college degree or working experience in related field
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, especially Word and Excel
  • Ability to gain certification as a pharmacy technician within one year of being placed in position
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to problem solve and resolve member issues
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Must be timely, dependable and must notify supervisor of schedule changes

Highly Preferred Experience & Skills

  • Background in pharmacy or other related healthcare field
  • Understanding concepts of pharmacy benefit management operations

Continuing Education Requirements

  • As needed for various certifications and licenses
