Tri-State Surgery Center is looking to engage a Registered Nurse full time, around 80 hours per pay period, to work in the Operating Room and Pre/Post-OP.  Must be an energetic, self-motivated team oriented individual with excellent communication skills and be able to relate positively with others in a fast paced environment.

Provide Quality professional nursing care for clinical patients following licensure requirements, Standards of practice and within the nursing scope of practice.  Conduct systematic assessments of patient status, initiate critical decision making processes and implement on-going evaluations of plan of care.  Oversee the surgical technician during surgical procedures.

Must be an energetic, self-motivated team oriented individual with excellent communication skills and be able to relate positively with others in a fast paced environment.

Valid RN Licensure

Essential Functions:
Collaborate with the healthcare team based on evidenced based guidelines to direct/perform independent nursing triage and intervention using critical thinking skills and provide emergency care as needed according to department protocols. This includes but is not limited to missing and providing administration of antineoplastic agents, emergency cardiac medications as ordered by the physician.  Monitoring and administrating medications as well as EKG interpretation peri-operatively.  Preparing for the operative procedures to include instruments, equipment and supplies according to physician preference cards and orders.  Ordering supplies for assigned areas.  

Integrate the nursing process in all patient contact, care, diagnostic testing and treatments.  Collect pertinent patient health care data, review medical records and confer/collaborate with physicians to ensure patient needs are met.

Communicate effectively with patients, co-workers, and others.  Promote patient wellness and provide patient education. 

Demonstrate flexibility in performing duties of patient care.  Provide input for devising systems to improve quality and efficiency of patient care and workflow.  Document care provided, including but not limited to:  Assessment, interventions, medications, patient education, and assist with integrity of medical records.  Facilitate reimbursement of services provided, including but not limited to entering of supplies used, and insurance requirements. 

Comply with state, federal and accreditation regulations, policies and procedures, which may include but is not limited to:  completing incident reports, evaluating safety and appropriateness of equipment. 

Maintain facility environment that is safe, neat, organized and supplied with necessary equipment, instruments, supplies, and educational material.  Ensures equipment is functioning safely and properly.  Perform cleaning, sterilization and maintenance of equipment, instruments according to guidelines.

Complete all other assigned projects and duties.
