Clarke University, located in scenic Dubuque, IA, invites applications for a Writing Specialist position beginning August of 2018. This staff position in Clarke’s Margaret Mann Academic Resource Center (MARC) consists of providing student writing support, training writing tutors, offering workshops for faculty colleagues on the teaching of writing, and supporting faculty conversations about Writing Across the Curriculum. Teaching first-year writing and remedial writing courses may be included as needed.
The successful candidate will be able to work collaboratively with students, faculty, staff and the Clarke community and function effectively in a technology-rich environment. Knowledge of writing pedagogy and previous experience teaching at the college level are essential. Previous experience working in a Writing Center is preferred. Master’s Degree in Writing/Rhetoric preferred, related fields considered.
