Clarke University is a dynamic, Catholic institution grounded in the liberal arts tradition of approximately 1100 students in traditional, adult and graduate programs.  Located in the thriving city of Dubuque, Iowa, along the Mississippi River, the college was founded in 1843 by the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a full-time, visiting one-year faculty member with concentration in applied voice. The initial appointment will be of visiting status for the 2018-2019 academic year; candidates may apply for tenure track appointment beginning fall 2019. The position will also be responsible for contributing to other general education courses in the music curriculum, depending on the candidate’s expertise.

A doctorate in music is preferred, although ABD will be considered. Experience in art song/opera performance, a background in vocal pedagogy and diction, knowledge of musical theatre styles as well as experience in student recruitment is preferred. As Clarke University provides students with a variety of vocal experiences, knowledge of classical and musical theatre repertoire is essential.
