Production Manager - 2nd Shift

The 2nd shift Production Manager is responsible for the technical management and supervision of approximately 40 CNC Operators.  (2nd shift hours are Monday - Thursday, 3:15 p.m. - 1:45 a.m. with occasional OT on Fridays.)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plans organize and direct departmental activities to achieve goals of safety, quality, customer service, and budget.
  • Works with all functional areas to resolve production issues.
  • Monitors and evaluates departmental performance providing feedback to Plant Manager.
  • Establishes work schedules, conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching and training, and set departmental expectations and goals.
  • Drive changes in working environment, processes, and equipment usage to increase the overall efficiency of the production operation.
  • Participates in maintaining the company’s quality system and adheres to standard operating procedures as applicable.
  • Ensures that all departmental associates are trained in and follow work procedures and company policies, including all company safety polices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Working Environment

  • Fast-paced, office and temperature controlled manufacturing environment.
  • Exposed to materials and noise levels which are well within the acceptable limits set by Occupational Safety & Health Administration on an occasional basis.
  • Personal protective equipment required as instructed
  • Occasional travel expected.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications

  • Must be able to manage and lead the activities of other associates to achieve company goals
  • Must be able to use BEC information systems such as Visual PDM, 4th Shift, etc. as required.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and other BEC process documentation.
  • Knowledge of industrial safety systems and regulations such as OSHA workplace regulations.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills required.

 

Experience and Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering preferred.
  • 2-3 year experience in a manufacturing setting required.
  • Supervisory experience required.
  • Advanced CNC machining knowledge is a must.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Work is considered “Sedentary Work” with occasional “Light Work” from the Physical Demand Definitions of the Dictionary of Occupational Titles according to the Department of Labor.
