Title: Hydraulics Design Engineer - 41521

Your Responsibilities

As a Hydraulics Design Engineer, for the John Deere Construction & Forestry division, located in Dubuque, IA you will be responsible for the hydraulics, hydrostatics & controls design of current production Skid Steer and Compact Track Loaders.  In addition, you will:

  • Focus on quality improvement and cost reduction
  • Troubleshoot problems on the production line and assist DTAC (Dealer Technical Assistance Center) to quickly resolve customer field issues

  • Demonstrated strong problem solving ability and willingness to attack emerging  issues, determine root cause, and drive corrective action  
  • Demonstrated effective project management skills  
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills
  • Experience on hydraulic/hydrostatic components/systems
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a self-directed manner
  • Experience with reading hydraulic schematics
  • Experience with 3D modeling tools (such as Creo, Pro/E, Solidworks, AutoCAD, etc.)
  • Ability & willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Technical experience relating to design/diagnostics and troubleshooting of machinery
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Experience with emerging quality issues, determining root cause and driving corrective action
  • Knowledge of other functional areas outside of hydraulics/hydrostatics or desire and ability to learn
  • Experience working in a manufacturing/assembly environment focusing on warranty reduction, assembly line issues, cost reduction, and new product implementation
  • Experience with 3D Modeling tools for plumbing routing (such as: ProE-ProPiping)

Education (or equivalent work experience)

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar degree.
