You’ll be:

  • Supervising Member Solutions staff and providing regular coaching to enable them to successfully carry out the goals and objectives of the department
  • Maintaining and reviewing status of assigned delinquent mortgage loans and initiating appropriate collection action
  • Delegating delinquent accounts to appropriate staff members
  • Preparing correspondence on delinquent accounts; phone contact with members and cosigners
  • Skip-tracing accounts according to established credit union policies and procedures
  • Supervising staff regarding repossessions and foreclosures as authorized
  • Reviewing charge off file periodically for possible recoveries and recommending loans to be charged-off to Delinquent Loan committee
  • Assisting other credit union departments with collection efforts
  • Conferring with internal auditors to facilitate the prevention of collusion (secretive actions)
  • Reviewing Loan refinance requests by Member Solutions staff
  • Recognizing member needs and educate them on appropriate credit union services
  • Understanding technology available to the members and demonstrating its use
  • Maintaining the delinquency and charge off goals, established by the Board of Directors
  • Reviewing delinquent loans over 60 days and initiating collection action as needed
  • Keeping appropriate personal informed of problem accounts and collection issues
  • Understanding and complying with credit union policies and procedures and related laws and regulations
  • Managing outside vendor performance, including attorneys, brokers and repossession agencies
  • Performing other duties as assigned

You’ll need:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience is required
  • Experience and knowledge in Collection Law, Bankruptcy Law, Fair Debt Collection Act and conciliation court procedures
  • Leadership / supervisory experience
  • Ability to demonstrate good decision making techniques
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organizational and computer skills
