Function: Product Engineering
Title: Engine Application Engineer - 45089

Your Responsibilities

As an Engine Application Engineer for John Deere Construction & Forestry Division, located in Dubuque, IA, you will be responsible for PDP engine, engine auxiliary, and cooling system design and vehicle integration. In addition, you will:

  • Act as a point contact for JDPS and engine auxiliary suppliers
  • Participate in all design related aspects of the product delivery process for powertrain functional areas
  • Collaborate with the global team on CI & PDP projects
  • Support production launches & PDP physical builds at our China factory and problem resolution in the field
  • Coach and mentor global engineering team members
  • Contribute to product design guidelines, design books, and engineering analysis procedures for Excavators
  • Lead Powertrain CCPD projects that support future portfolio needs

What Skills You Need

  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to analyze technical data, consider multiple alternatives, and provide data driven decisions and recommendations
  • 3 or more years off-highway design or test experience
  • Experience with PDMLink, SAP, and 3D modeling tools, including ProE or CREO
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally, up to 25%

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Experience working in/with JDPS
  • Engine, engine auxiliaries, or cooling design experience
  • Excavator design experience
  • Experience with Product Verification and Validation processes
  • Experience as a Team Lead or Subject Matter Expert
  • Masters in engineering
  • Bilingual (English and Mandarin)

Education (or equivalent work experience)

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience.
