Title: Fab Manufacturing Engineering Part Time Student - Dubuque, IA - 43835

Your Responsibilities

  • This position is necessary to support crawler dozer production and PDP program introductions.
  • This individual works in a team of Manufacturing Engineers to provide all the technical assistance, standards, work instructions, mistake proofing and other expertise needed for a particular section of the line.
  • They plan, coordinate and complete manufacturing engineering work for moderate scope projects that often involves coordination with other departments and outside contractors.

  • Desire to work on the factory floor (warm in the summer; cool in the winter) and willing to get dirty daily
  • Appreciation for Quality, Commitment, Integrity, and Innovation 
  • Driven to better self and support those around you
  • Pursuing a degree in Engineering, Operations Mgt, or similar
  • Must be registered as a full-time student at a local university
  • Must be able to commute to the work location on a daily basis
  • Graduation date of December 2019 or later 
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
  • 16 - 20 hours/week during the academic year
  • 35 - 40 hours/week during the summer semester

A strong candidate will also have

  • Awareness of John Deere: the business as a whole, our machines, and our parts
  • Engineering or Mechanical background/experience of some sort (thru school or otherwise)
  • Data Analysis, reporting, and/or application development experience (thru school or otherwise)
  • Excel (pivot tables, functions/formulas, filters, etc.) is our primary tool outside of the master system
  • AutoCAD experience
