We currently have a paid Publishing internship available at our Dubuque headquarters for the fall through and spring and summer. This position will assist with textbook development and is an excellent opportunity to work with both print and digital products.
Initial duties may include:
- Become familiar with overall textbook development and processing in both print and digital formats
- Organize, review and process manuscripts and art files
- Download and label images into collaborative work space
- Initiate project forms and enter project data into system
- Assist in manuscript review, preparation of manuscript for typesetting and final check before files sent to printer
- Prepare files for archival process
- Photo Research
- Assist in other areas of department as needed
Excellent opportunity for students majoring in English, Language Arts, Communication or Business who have strong written and verbal communication, analytical and problem solving skills. Experience using Internet software, Spreadsheet and Word Processing software essential, and knowledge of Adobe Professional, Photo Shop and In Design would be helpful.
Must be available to work 10-15 hours per week during the semester; full-time hours are available for the summer.
