The University of Wisconsin-Platteville, Dining Services-Catering department, seeks applicants for a Catering Lead.  A competitive wage and excellent fringe benefits are available for this full-time position. The normal working hours vary for this position. Night and weekend hours are required.

This position will oversee catered events such as banquets, dinners, receptions and bar service in the Markee Pioneer Student Center, Ullsvik Hall and other campus community sites. Provide training, guidance and direction to student managers and student employees to ensure outstanding customer service to our guests.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Basic computer knowledge (e.g. Microsoft Word & Excel)
  • Driver’s License, which meets the UW Risk Management standards. 
  • Ability to complete and pass Serv-Safe training course and hold a State of Wisconsin Restaurant Manager Certification within six months of employment. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of food service supervisory experience
  • Serv-Safe certification
  • State of Wisconsin Restaurant Manager Certification
